Eight feet high. Eight feet of tree-bones and deadbolts and iron. Eight feet by two and a half feet of dark brown lurking in the hallways, blocking the light from the other side. Eight feet of “No, you may not enter.” A hand is placed against the wood. The iron creaks, warning wandering children to stay clear of the room behind. This was where the monsters lived. Where clocks ticked too loudly and music boxed played too slowly. This was where shadows took the forms of hags with long fingers, and where the light seemed to flee. This was where nightmares were raised until they were mature enough to creep in through your ear while you slept and plague your dreams. This was the gateway to Knowledge of Good and Evil. This was where evil had free reign and poor little boys were helpless to stop it. A hand moves to the knob, waiting. Fingers coiling like snakes on a mouse. Tighter and tighter. The breath being squeezed out. Breath held dearly, for this might be the last. The boy exhales. The door stays locked another day. And the monsters stay in the attic.
hey, I found out about this blog because I wanted to get my ears pierced and I saw your video on youtube. I was bored so I clicked on your channel and I guess I led myself here. Just thought I should let you know about my lil half-hour journey..
